It is important to know your student's lexile level as it correlates to AR. This is the level your student is reading on. Your student should be checking out books from the library on their lexile level/AR level. This will be given to your student. Ask your student's teacher if you have any questions.

It is important for 2nd graders to learn how to ask/ answer questions. This helps students with reading comprehension. The best way to practice this is by reading with your student and asking questions about the reading. This ensures they understand what they are reading.
